After graduating from the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy in 1993, Johanna moved out to Vancouver to obtain her Bachelors of Human Kinetics degree at UBC. She graduated with First Class Standing and as Valedictorian of her graduating class. Johanna earned the distinction of Certified Sport Massage Therapist SMT(C) through the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA), in 2001. She was selected on to the Canadian Health Care Teams for both the PanAm Games in 2003 in the Dominican Republic, as well as the Francophone Games in 2005 in Niger, Africa. Her experience dealing with athletes of all levels includes the 2003 Canada Winter Games and many International World Championship events. The pinnacle of her Sport Massage experience was being selected to the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics as part of the Core Medical Team for Canada.
Aside from her dedication to working with amateur athletes Johanna also has a special interest in her pregnant and post-natal clients. She has taught private Prenatal classes to clients and assisted several mothers during their labour and delivery. Symptomatically, the aches and pains associated with pregnancy and early motherhood can often be reduced significantly through Massage Therapy.
Johanna’s approach to Massage Therapy is therapeutic with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery.
