Compassion Fatigue Workshop

By | News | No Comments

with Charlene Richard B.S.W., M.S.W., RSW, CCC

“Our ability to care is what makes us great helping professionals… it’s also what makes us vulnerable to developing Compassion Fatigue”

Workshop Outline:

Compassion fatigue is flourishing today, due in part to the demands of managed care. Health care providers see more patients, do more paperwork, negotiate more contracts and have less autonomy than ever before. Add to that self-imposed pressure to live up to their own high standards, and it’s no wonder many health care professionals feel the stresses of work. This workshop will help you :

Recognize
How your current lifestyle choices and work are impacting your overall wellness.
Reduce
Your stress and factors that contribute to your compassion fatigue.

Restore
How you best nurture yourself so that you are in better control of your choices and overall lifestyle thereby building resiliency.

Workshop Instructor:

Charlene Richard is a Clinical Social Worker and Registered Clinical Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.  She has a Master’s degree from the Clinical Social Work program at Wilfred Laurier University.  Charlene is also certified as a “Compassion Fatigue Specialist”, and provides compassion fatigue counselling, support, and workshops for caregivers, helpers, and healthcare professionals.
